WELCOME SANDY SPIDER – WRITER, GRAPHIC ARTIST AND ZAZZLER

Sandy Merten (Spider) lives and Zazzles in Green Bay, WI.

After a career designing homes and buildings and working on engineering projects, Sandy turned to online commerce for a change of pace. As she developed various online sites and businesses, Sandy discovered print on demand sites. She decided to explore her creative side and opened Cafepress shops in 2008 and a year later Sandy opened her first Zazzle shop SandySpider Gifts.

Calling herself a creative artist wannabe, Sandy created her first design on
Zazzle of a Snowflake Zombie. There had been record breaking snowfall and Sandy envisioned a snowflake with wicked eyes and mouth biting people as it fell to the ground.

Sandy works in photography, digital art and graphic design. She also likes to experiment with patterns, and unusual ways of taking photos. On a trip to a botanical garden, she took her photos through a kaleidoscope. The diversity of techniques Sandy uses to create images has helped the SandySpider Gifts shop grow to include a wide variety of themes.

Digital effects, color play and digital collage are favourite techniques of Sandy. She also enjoys creating Pop art designs.

Sandy also enjoys nature and animal photography and sharing her beautiful shots in her Zazzle shop.

The best selling item in Sandyspider Gifts is a chocolate truffle postcard.

In September 2010, Sandy opened her second shop on Zazzle to celebrate her self described warped sense of humor and the funny sides of life. The shop is called FunnyJokes and will tickle your funny bone.

TODAYS FEATURE: FUNNY GUY DAVE MCCASKILL

Dave began designing the odd Zazzle product in 2008. Many of his designs are humorous comments or quotes. Dave almost always sees the funny side of life and puns and wordplay are his favorite way of sharing his view of things.

Dave is definitely NOT an artiste, he will tell you if he drew a stick man he would have to label it 'stick man'. He likes to take nature photographs and is currently learning himself how to use Photoshop to create vector art. So far his efforts are quite humorous.

Dave likes to take landscape photographs and says he'll have to get a camera one of these days. To date he has used his cell phone or a borrowed camera to capture his moments of inspiration.

For more of Dave's humour/humor, check out his blog DAVE'S MINDSCAPE!

As Dave says, "Mostly things that linger long enough while crossing my mind for me to record a few thoughts. Probably nothing earth shaking but who knows what shakes your world. Any similarity to reality is purely coincidental.

Glad to have you here but remember, you could be spending your time more wisely. Family, friends, maybe even your job if you are really pushed for something to do."

A WARM WELCOME TO ZAZZLE DESIGNER RDWNGGRL

Rdwnggrl = Red Wing Girl = Stacy Lynch

When Stacy Lynch started on Zazzle in 2006 she chose the Rdwnggrl handle because of her love of the Detroit Red Wings hockey team. The reason Stacy started designing on Zazzle was to make shirts for herself and her friends.

In 2007 after some thought, Stacy decided that Zazzle could be a great way to use her creativity, showcase her artistic talent, and make a little money on the side. She set to work and began to design in earnest.

Mediums of choice for this designer are photography, digital art and graphic design. Stacy’s digital art and graphic designs are bold, bright, colourful and full of fun! Her photography includes amazing shots of flaming sunsets, majestic mountain vistas, the architecture and harbour of Seattle and the simple beauty of everyday objects.

Inspiration for Stacy’s art and photography comes from family, friends, nature and life. Stacy says that whether it is her passion for equality (her Acceptance, Love & Pride line), her passion for what nature has to offer (Nature & Places), or helping everyone feel the love and respect they deserve (Inspiration & Life), she tries to design things that will make people feel good.

There is more to Stacy Lynch than Zazzle and designing. She and her husband John have a passion for the BBQ. Their ‘little company with a big conscience’, CRIPPLE CREEK BBQ, is based on love of food and the environment. Together they are working to share their passion and excellent products with the world.

Good food, great flavors, and an environmental conscience are the driving force behind this Colorado based, family-run company specializing in barbeque sauces and spice rubs. All of their sauces are all-natural and contain NO high fructose corn syrup. Cripple Creek strives to make products with amazing flavors and that you will feel good about using!

Stacy has some special designs in her shop that celebrate this awesome growing company. This great canvas bag features the company’s logo.

And finally 'Where there is Music There is Freedom'
Designed by a lady who has music in her soul!

WARM WINTER WISHES & WELCOME TO THE ZAZZLE REVIEW

Appropriately, or perhaps not so, I have decided to kick off this little blog with a review of ‘dequilla’ on Zazzle.  That would be me!
When I began on Zazzle in 2007, I was an online ‘newbie’ and not sure if I wanted to, or should, expose my real identity.  It is a quandary that many new to the online community wrestle with.  So, who could I be???  What could I call myself?  I thought and I puzzled, I searched and I researched (no I am not obsessive, I didn’t want to use someone else’s handle)  In the end I came up with the following (shush those giggles and snorts)  Naeme de la Quilla, my version of Pen Name.  I shortened it to dequilla when I signed onto Zazzle for the very first time.
In the beginning I spent a lot of time surfing through Zazzle to see all the incredible talent there and made many friends on that journey.  There is a reason so many people refer to their Zazzle pals as ‘Zamily’.  The love and support amongst the community is truly amazing!
My first products on Zazzle featured some of my original paintings.  In no time I was adding designs using my photography and original cross stitch designs.  Since then I have learned how to create amazing digital art, fractals of many kinds, and am now learning how to work in Photoshop, which is reawakening my Graphic Design training from *ahem* a few years ago.  Being a Zazzler has been a learning and growing experience and I know it will continue for many years to come.
Soooooo, now that you know the skinny on me and my Zazzle experience, I hope you will follow this blog regularly and learn more about the unbelievably amazing, talented, and inspired designers who create fantastic products just for you, on ZAZZLE!!!
